Meet Vulpe! She was born in Romania around May 2012, and rescued around the beginning of July. Thanks to Action Aid for Animals, her precious face was soon on the internet, and over 1500 miles away in sunny Manchester, she was spotted….

As you can see, Vulpe wasn’t always Vulpe…… Apparently “Vulpi” is Romanian for ‘skates’…..and ‘Vulpe’ is Romanian for fox. We figured something had been lost in translation (though later found out that ‘Vulpi’ also means ‘foxy’!) and decided to stick with Vulpe.

And so, on 7th August 2012, a due date was set. Departing Romania 30th August and arriving in England 2nd September, with a planned handover late the same afternoon in a motorway services car park…..
